Attidudes in Diabetes
Apologies for my prolonged absence. You know that ridiculous flu that has been going around? Yea, I got it. Not once but twice – ever so lucky. Good news is that I’m 95% recovered and back on my feet again. However I have managed to pass it onto a few people. Oops. That’s what you Read more

Taking care of my pearly whites 🙂
Often when it’s dentist time (or a visit to the hygienist for my gum disease in this case), we often tend to cringe and make a big fuss out of it. Yesterday was no exception. I knew exactly what I was in for. Being berated for not flossing, a huge lecture on gum disease and it’s Read more

Seeing the world through rose coloured glasses
My boyfriend reminded me of something the other day when I was feeling fed up with my health. He reminded me that if we’re looking for indicators that we have bad health, we are bound to find them. So why don’t I focus on positive aspects of my health? Things that I can do and Read more

When Life Tells You to Rest, REST!
It’s funny how life sometimes throws you curveballs that really are a blessing in disguise. At the start of the week, I was feeling absolutely exhausted and run down. Both mentally and physically. Welcome to my Bittersweet Diagnosis Blog
When I started this blog in 2011, I never thought it would be going over 10 years later. Writing is my way of reflecting and processing the world around me. Over time, I didn’t realise my stories resonated with others or helped them to learn more about living with diabetes. And so it is the power of sharing stories that keeps me going with this blog.
Initially, I named my blog “Bittersweet Diagnosis” as that is exactly how I feel about my diabetes. Learning to live with a chronic condition as intensive as diabetes has been one of the toughest challenges I’m still navigating. Yet along the way, diabetes has made me grow and develop into a better person, physically and mentally.
