Bittersweet Diagnosis blog

  • New Beginnings.

A while ago, I finally took a well deserved day off from everything. I skipped out on boot camp to catch up on some much needed sleep and I took a day off work. Instead, I took my lovely mum out for brunch at one of our favourite places and visited a dear friend in Read more

  • Wordless Wednesday

I’ve decided to jump on the Wordless Wednesday bandwagon! Here’s my first: Read more

  • Burnout? Watchout!

When you talk to many diabetes healthcare professionals, half of them often think that a diabetes burnout is just another thing like laziness and complacency from our end. Well, I can assure you that it is most certainly not! With any chronic condition, it’s normal to feel like you’re ‘over it all’. You feel like Read more

  • Very Inspiring Blogger Award – who? me?!

Last week, I was pleasantly surprised by a comment left behind on my blog by Michelle from Inspiring the Girls nominating me for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Being the curious cat I am, I tried to find the origins of this award. Instead, I found plenty of other bloggers who have been awarded (or Read more

  • Overheard and Outraged!

The Setting: Out having dinner with my boyfriend, I hear the familiar beep of the Optimum Exceed meter going off at the table next to us. • Holi-what-days?

The last few weeks has been nothing short of manic (hence the lack of new posts). Somehow, I have this warped concept of ‘holidays’ (does not compute!). Welcome to my Bittersweet Diagnosis Blog

When I started this blog in 2011, I never thought it would be going over 10 years later. Writing is my way of reflecting and processing the world around me. Over time, I didn’t realise my stories resonated with others or helped them to learn more about living with diabetes. And so it is the power of sharing stories that keeps me going with this blog.

Initially, I named my blog “Bittersweet Diagnosis” as that is exactly how I feel about my diabetes. Learning to live with a chronic condition as intensive as diabetes has been one of the toughest challenges I’m still navigating. Yet along the way, diabetes has made me grow and develop into a better person, physically and mentally.
