  • Health Activist Writer’s Month Challenge 2013 – Week 1.

I stumbled across the Health Activist Writer’s Month Challenge 2013 on Facebook and thought to myself ‘why not?’ and signed up for it and went back to writing my assignment. Then I started doing this…and that…and before I knew it, the day was over and I haven’t even had the chance to write my first Read more

  • Rewind, Recap, Restart.

Recently, I’ve been feeling very stressed and overwhelmed with the many things going on in my life. As work and uni start to take first priority, I’ve started to let other things slide; things that make me smile and laugh; things that make me sigh with relief. So you can imagine that the smiles and Read more

  • Dietetics – Week 1

Welcome to my Bittersweet Diagnosis Blog

When I started this blog in 2011, I never thought it would be going over 10 years later. Writing is my way of reflecting and processing the world around me. Over time, I didn’t realise my stories resonated with others or helped them to learn more about living with diabetes. And so it is the power of sharing stories that keeps me going with this blog.

Initially, I named my blog “Bittersweet Diagnosis” as that is exactly how I feel about my diabetes. Learning to live with a chronic condition as intensive as diabetes has been one of the toughest challenges I’m still navigating. Yet along the way, diabetes has made me grow and develop into a better person, physically and mentally.
