The Black and White of Advocacy
A couple of weeks ago, I was attended (and presented) at the second HealtheVoicesAU conference organised and funded by Janssen/Johnson and Johnson. HealtheVoices is unique as, firstly, it’s not full of researchers but health advocates. Secondly, the delegates are not solely people with diabetes, which makes it all the more interesting. It allowed me to Read more

Contentment
Choice is aplenty for people with diabetes at the moment and I’m so excited that we have so many options to consider what works best for us. After catching up with a friend of mine recently about life, we talked about my new pump and CGM/Libre. Our conversation reminded me of a value that I Read more

Over time, I didn’t realise my stories resonated with others or helped them to learn more about living with diabetes. And so it is the power of sharing stories that keeps me going with this blog.
Initially, I named my blog “Bittersweet Diagnosis” as that is exactly how I feel about my diabetes. Learning to live with a chronic condition as intensive as diabetes has been one of the toughest challenges I’m still navigating. Yet along the way, diabetes has made me grow and develop into a better person, physically and mentally.
